Yisah Bin Omar, is a proud Djukun woman, born and raised in the West Kimberley Region of Western Australia's North West. She also acknowledges her connections to the Karajarri, Kija and Nyikina peoples. Her maternal connections are to the Gooreng Gooreng and Noonuccal peoples of Queensland.
Yisah's background is in Community Development but driven by her desire to enhance her skills and knowledge she is currently studying a Master of Indigenous Business Leadership at Monash University. Additionally Yisah is the owner of Djukun Designs which creates unique products inspired by her Kimberley heritage. She is also assisting with her community's language revival project. Yisah is committed to supporting strength-based community-led initiatives that generate opportunity and promote equity and social change.
