Danika Godwin

Nara my name is Danika Godwin. I am a proud Butchulla woman from K'gari. I am a social work student at QUT. When starting out at university, I wasn't 100% sure what social work was but I had the fire to support people in their lives. Since then, I have fallen in love with it. The aspects of supporting mob in their lives through advocating and providing services that come from a culturally safe space is where I knew I wanted to be. My biggest influence and supporter is my mum who provided the space and resources to follow this path. In the future, I am hoping to start my social work career in an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community organisation in a rural setting.
